Permanent hair removal

The constant cycle of hair removal can be a nightmare!  Shaving to get rid of hair can be a good quick fix, though in the long run it often encourages more hair growth.  Waxing can be painful and you often need to wait for a certain amount of hair re-growth in order to wax again.  The ideal method to get rid of hair would be a pain-free and permanent solution.

Permanent hair removal options include, electrolysis which uses a small probe inserted into the hair follicle through which a high frequency current is passed.  This process can be a very uncomfortable and the risk of skin damage is very high.  A more up to date approach to hair removal is with laser.

Laser hair reduction works by omitting laser light into the tissue.  This will target the pigment in the hair heating it up to cauterise the hair root.  There are lots of different types of laser hair removal on the market today which can bring good results depending on skin and hair type but are uncomfortable.  However, there is only one type of laser that can painlessly and permanently remove hair regardless of skin or hair type, and that is the Soprano Laser.

The Soprano XL laser is suitable for all skin and all hair types.  It is the only ‘in motion’ laser technique which makes it pain free as compared with other lasers which use the ‘pulse method, ’ are painful and hold more risk.  At EF MEDISPA the highly trained staff of aestheticians are able to eliminate hair from any part of the body safely and effectively using the Soprano laser.

A course of treatments are required as hair goes through a three phase cycle. First the growth phase, followed by the dormant phase and then falling out. Hair growth is reduced after each treatment, but to achieve permanent hair reduction, each treatment should be during the growth phase when the hair will respond to the light energy.

At EF MediSpa unwanted hair can be treated on all body areas including upper lip, chin, cheeks, neck, arms, shoulders, breasts, stomach, arms, back, bikini area and legs.

Hormonal hair can also be treated though female hormone imbalances can cause a more resistant hair growth. Good results can still be achieved in lessening the hair but total eradication may take longer.

Where hormonal issues are involved, the team at EF MEDISPA will work alongside in-house doctors who may prescribe a hormonal treatment to run in parallel with your laser programme.
