Inner health and wellbeing has always been a key focus for EF MEDISPA and our founder Esther Fieldgrass holds a passionate and holistic approach to the subject. In October, Esther travelled to Miami to attend the
Global Wellness Summit, an international gathering that brings leaders and visionaries together to shape the future of the global wellness economy.
The Global Wellness Economy is valued at $3.7 trillion and every year the summit sees dozens of industry experts take the stage to speak and present. Among the speakers this year were Dr Oz, Professor of surgery at Colombia University and Andrew Weil, founder, director and clinical professor of medicine at the University of Arizona Centre for Integrative Medicine.
Industry icon Deborah Szekely was presented with the inaugural Living a Well Life Award, for embodying wellness principles and practices throughout her life. At 95 she did a wonderful presentation on stage and has contributed a great deal to the industry. Szekely co-founded wellness destination Rancho La Puerta in 1940 and the Golden Door in 1958. “I hope I’m as mobile and mentally agile when I’m her age!” – Esther.
Dr Richard Carmona is the 17
th Surgeon general of the U.S and gave some exceptional talks at the summit about sustainable wellness. He received the Global Wellness Summit’s Social Impact Award for his commitment to expand access to health and wellness to people around the world.
Esther enjoyed her time with many others including skincare expert Michael Pugliese, Dutch daredevil Wim Hof AKA The Iceman and Dr Philippe Allouche of Biologique Recherche.
