What is the NeoGen Plasma treatment?

The NeoGen Plasma treatment is a regenerating, non-surgical treatment that tightens and lifts the skin. Instead of ablative measures such as needles or lasers, nitrogen plasma technology is used throughout the procedure which exhibits high-frequency waves, stimulating new collagen production for up to a year to promote a more youthful-looking appearance.

Here at EF MEDISPA, we use NeoGen EVO - the latest model for/of 2024. Its ability to deliver heat to the skin and stimulate dermal remodelling without harming any tissue makes it an increasingly popular treatment for antiaging purposes, amongst others.

How does NeoGen Plasma work?

Prior to the procedure, a topical anesthetic cream is applied to the area being treated to avoid any discomfort. Nitrogen gas is converted to nitrogen plasma, which produces thermal energy that is delivered to the skin in controlled pulses. This stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis and creates a chain reaction that induces positive effects, helping to address multiple skin concerns simultaneously. The amount of thermal energy that is transferred to the tissue varies upon the targeted concern, and influences the depth of penetration that determines the tightening and resurfacing effects.

What does it treat?

It effectively targets multiple concerns at once:

  • Actinic (solar) keratosis
  • Eyelid laxity (inc. crow’s feet folds, heavy lids, under-eye folds)
  • Lines & wrinkles
  • Large pores
  • Pigmentation (including melasma, sunspots, freckles)
  • Poor texture
  • Scars
  • Sun damage (photodamage)
  • Skin laxity
  • Skin lesions
  • Stretch marks

How much does this treatment cost?

Prices start from £2,000 for a single session - packages can be discussed at your complimentary EF MEDISPA consultation.

How long do results last for?

Results with NeoGen Plasma are long-lasting. Skin tightening effects can be seen instantly after one session, and improvements continue to develop for up to a year as new collagen and elastin production is ongoing. A course of 3-5 sessions is recommended to maintain results, with 1 session every 4 weeks.

Aftercare

Neogen Plasma treatment takes 10-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Downtime often lasts for 5-7 days, however, this can depend on the energy levels used in treatment.

The skin is very fragile post-treatment, so it’s important to treat it gently. Although the layer of the skin isn’t removed, the outer layer can peel or flake, depending on the area being treated, as well as temporary erythema which is a pink to brown hue. Good aftercare is crucial for the healing process, otherwise it can hinder your results and pose a risk of catching an infection.
