The Treatment, 10 to 60 minutes
At higher energies a numbing cream goes on first. Your practitioner then passes the NeoGen handpiece over the area in controlled pulses. Expect a feeling of warmth that builds, then eases. Treatment time depends on the area.
Recovery and the Result
At low energy you are back to your day with a little redness. At high energy the treated skin darkens and sheds over 5 to 7 days as new skin comes through beneath it. Tightening shows after one session and keeps improving for up to 12 months.

Does NeoGen Plasma hurt?
At lower energies most clients describe a warmth that builds and passes quickly, with no numbing needed. For higher energy treatments we apply a numbing cream first and give it time to work, so the treatment itself is comfortable. Afterwards your skin feels warm and tight for a few hours, a little like a day in the sun.
How much does a course cost?
Every plan is personal to your concerns, the energy level you choose and the number of sessions you need, so we talk you through your options and your investment at your complimentary consultation rather than online. As a new client, your first course comes with 35% off, and there is no obligation to go ahead.
What is the downtime?
It depends on the energy level, and you choose that with your practitioner. Low energy sessions leave mild redness for a day or two and you carry on with your week. High energy treatments are a bigger step: the treated skin darkens, feels tight and sheds over 5 to 7 days as new skin comes through beneath it. During that week you avoid make-up, heat and sun, and we give you a full aftercare plan and a direct line to the clinic.
When will I see results and how long do they last?
Skin tightening can be seen after a single session, and the improvement keeps building for up to 12 months as your skin produces new collagen and elastin. Results are long lasting, and your practitioner will suggest how best to maintain them once you see your final result.
How many sessions do I need?
That depends on how much change you want and how much downtime you can take. Some clients choose a single high energy treatment. Others prefer a course of lighter sessions, usually 3 to 5 around four weeks apart, with less downtime after each one. Your Treatment Coordinator personalises this with you at your complimentary consultation.
Is NeoGen suitable for my skin, and who should not have it?
NeoGen does not rely on a laser wavelength or on targeting pigment, and it has been clinically studied on skin types I to IV. It is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have an active skin infection, cold sores or open wounds in the treatment area, or with certain medical conditions and medications. We take a full medical history at consultation and only proceed if it is safe and appropriate for you.
How does it compare to laser resurfacing or microneedling?
Laser resurfacing removes the surface layer of the skin and microneedling creates thousands of tiny channels in it. NeoGen leaves the surface intact and heats the whole architecture of the skin in a controlled way, so there is no open wound and the treated layer protects the new skin forming underneath. It can also be used right up to the lash line. For pure texture work a laser can be the right choice, and many clients combine treatments in one plan.
