EF Experts: Meet the Dr behind the Killer Jaw treatment...

We recently interviewed one of our Aesthetic Specialists, Dr.Ivona, to find out more about her and her statement 'Killer Jaw', 'Liquid Face' and 'Gummy Smile!' treatments

 

Tell us about yourself? 
My name is Dr. Ivona Igerc and I am an Aesthetics and Anti-Ageing Specialist here at EF MEDISPA. I graduated from the Medical University of Croatia in 2000 and I have been practicing dentistry and aesthetics around the world for almost two decades.  I have a lot of experience with the Asian clientele as I practiced aesthetics in China and South Korea before moving to the UK.

What started your interest in aesthetics?
I have always been very creative and into the arts! My family are all Doctors, so I found the perfect combination of art and medicine in Aesthetics.

What attracted you to EF MEDISPA? 
EF MEDISPA is a very successful medical spa that is dedicated to delivering the best results for both men and women. When I met Esther and her family, they reminded me a lot of my family’s business.  I admire their dedication and how driven they are. 

How long have you been a practitioner for?
I started practicing in 2000. So just under 20 years! Oh, how time flies…

What do you find most rewarding about your job?
The most rewarding thing about my job is being able to develop new techniques in the medical industry and of course seeing all my clients happy with their results.

What is your favourite treatment to perform and why?
I would have to say, ‘The Killer Jaw’, ‘The Smile Design’ and ‘The Face Design’ are my favourite. I love combining treatments such as anti-wrinkle injectables, thread and fillers, to get maximise results. I also love customising treatments to each individual client and tailoring my signature treatments to suit their needs.

How did you discover ‘smile design’?
As you know, the eyes and the mouth are a person’s focal point. Throughout the years, I’ve found that a lot of people are self-conscious when they smile due to the amount of gum that show. With the help of anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers, we can make minimal changed to the upper lip that can help the client get the smile they desire and still look natural.

Your renowned for your technique and precision, tell us about your ‘face design’ treatment?
As we age, we start losing the volume in our face and our skin can begin to sag and become wrinkly. The ‘Face Design’ technique helps both men and women to naturally add volume, smooth out any wrinkles and bring back that natural glow we all want. In just 20 minutes I can help rejuvenate your skin, and still look natural.

What is one thing you always recommend to your patients?
My number one tip is: always use sun protection cream! Your skin can easily get sun damaged, dull and dehydrated from the UV light. Sun light is one of the main reasons our skin ages.

Where do you see the aesthetic industry in the next 5 years?
In the next five years I believe that the regenerative medicine and stem cells will take over the industry.
